Temple University's Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity, offered through the College of Science and Technology, equips students for intensive graduate-level studies and future careers in academic, government, or nonprofit research organizations. This 123-credit undergraduate program cultivates experts in ecology, evolution, and biodiversity who will drive policy decisions and scientific investigations addressing urgent global challenges such as climate change and environmental sustainability.
The disciplines of ecology, evolution, and biodiversity have experienced exponential growth, with scholarly citations multiplying more than four times since 2003 - now surpassing even medical research citations in volume.
Temple's College of Science and Technology acknowledges the increasing need for specialists well-versed in ecological, evolutionary, and biodiversity sciences. Strategic investments have positioned Temple as a regional center for these vital planetary studies. In 2020, the college collaborated with the Office of the Vice President for Research and University College to create the Ambler Field Station, enhancing student access to hands-on environmental research and field training opportunities.
