Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance offers a Bachelor of Music (BM) in Music Education program that prepares aspiring teachers to foster musical appreciation, share knowledge, and develop skills in their future students. Throughout this four-year program, Music Education students gain comprehensive training in music history, theory, and practice while developing teaching abilities across various musical disciplines. The program combines classroom learning with practical experience in both campus environments and Philadelphia's vibrant music community. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in musical skill development along with real-world teaching opportunities in urban and suburban schools. Students can select different concentrations, with the program requiring 126 to 128 credit hours to complete.
