The Criminal Justice Bachelor of Arts program aims to cultivate a thorough grasp of criminal behavior and assess how well society's prevention and control measures work. Through an interdisciplinary lens, students examine crime, perpetrators, victims, and the institutions, objectives, legislation, strategies, and procedures within the justice system. This major focuses on analytical reasoning regarding key issues that influence research, professional practice, policy-making, and reform initiatives, while developing competencies valued by experts in the discipline. Exceptional undergraduates may be recommended by faculty to enroll in the accelerated 41-credit BA/MA track. Participants take graduate-level coursework during their final three undergraduate terms alongside their bachelor's studies. Following graduation, they fulfill remaining MA requirements during a fifth year. Nine shared graduate credits apply toward both degrees, counting as electives for the undergraduate major. Qualified candidates maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and complete 83 program credits before spring admission in their junior year.
