Communication Studies is an interdisciplinary program focused on academic exploration. It combines aesthetic, analytical, critical, historical, and theoretical approaches to communication, drawing from various departments within the Klein College of Media and Communication. The program offers flexibility, enabling students to explore diverse areas of communication while fostering individual academic development. Students can tailor their studies to complete the degree efficiently. Within this interdisciplinary framework, Communication Studies offers specialized tracks for focused study: Communication and Entrepreneurship Contemporary Media Environments Global Civil Society Policy, Regulation and Advocacy Production (exclusive to Temple Japan students) An advanced Major of Distinction track is also available. The program's adaptable structure provides opportunities for hands-on learning through field experiences, internships, and study abroad programs. This innovative curriculum attracts students with varied skills and interests, preparing graduates for diverse career paths or further education in graduate, law, or professional schools. Alumni are equipped for various roles across the communication industry. The Global Civil Society track examines the rise of global civil society, covering social movements, historical evolution, and the expanding international public discourse. Course topics include public diplomacy, global media landscapes, and international public opinion.
