Communication Studies is an interdisciplinary program focused on academic exploration. It combines aesthetic, analytical, critical, historical, and theoretical approaches to communication across various departments within the Klein College of Media and Communication. The program offers flexibility, enabling students to explore diverse areas within the communications field while fostering individual academic development. Students can tailor their studies to complete the degree efficiently. Within this interdisciplinary framework, Communication Studies students choose from specialized tracks: Communication and Entrepreneurship, Contemporary Media Environments, Global Civil Society, Policy, Regulation and Advocacy, or Production (exclusive to Temple Japan students). Advanced scholars may opt for the Major of Distinction track. The program provides opportunities for hands-on learning through field experiences, internships, and study abroad programs. Attracting students with varied skills and interests, it prepares graduates for diverse career paths, including advanced studies in graduate, law, or professional schools. Alumni are equipped for roles across the communications industry. The Communication and Entrepreneurship track, in particular, examines the relationship between communication and business innovation, with coursework centered on organizational growth and digital workplace competencies, offering insights into capitalism's complexities.
