Syracuse's environmental engineering science graduate program is renowned for its excellence. Graduates employed in government, private sector, and academic roles have significantly advanced the field. Our environmental engineering faculty offer diverse coursework and research options spanning environmental chemistry, water treatment technologies, microbial applications, hydrologic systems, sustainable practices, groundwater cleanup, and eco-friendly water management solutions.

Beyond these specialized domains, environmental engineering science students and professors collaborate across disciplines, broadening graduate study possibilities. The Department houses the Center for Environmental Systems Engineering, supporting faculty from environmental, chemical, and mechanical engineering who focus on environmental systems. We also conduct cross-disciplinary instruction with faculty from the School of Architecture and SUNY-ESF.
