The Master of Science in English Education equips graduates to become inspiring teachers who cultivate passion for literature, writing, and language arts among their students.
Offered by the Department of Reading and Language Arts, this program trains individuals with English or literary backgrounds for secondary education roles. Participants will enhance their subject expertise while mastering techniques for incorporating technology, differentiated instruction, and standards-aligned evaluation, with special focus on cultural and linguistic inclusivity. The curriculum adheres to National Council for Teachers of English guidelines and fulfills New York State's certification requirements for English Language Arts (grades 7-12).

3 Letters of recommendation, at least one from a faculty member
