The Master of Science program in Early Childhood Special Education equips graduates to support diverse infants, young children, and families across home, school, community, and agency environments.
Housed within the Department of Teaching and Leadership, this program caters to students passionate about teaching in both general and special education early childhood settings. Our curriculum incorporates current best practices for educating all children from birth through second grade, including those with and without disabilities, across various home, community, and school environments. This unique program fulfills the academic prerequisites for both initial and professional New York State teaching certifications in Early Childhood Education (birth-grade 2) and Students with Disabilities (birth-grade 2), standing as one of the few dual certification options available in the region.
