The Cultural Foundations of Education (CFE) master's program equips students to critically examine, challenge, and expand their understanding of how education intersects with culture and society.
Participants explore various scholarly domains that shape educational studies, including ethnic and racial studies, disability research, global education, media culture, educational history and philosophy, cross-cultural communication, worldwide interconnectedness, gender research, immigration studies, and digital accessibility. Rooted in both humanities and social sciences, the curriculum develops skills in cross-disciplinary thinking, theoretical critique, and multiple research approaches. Working closely with advisors, students craft personalized programs aligned with their academic passions, enabling deep investigation into the cultural and societal factors influencing educational systems and broader contexts.
