Diversity and collaboration form the foundation of our globally acclaimed sculpture intensive within the studio arts curriculum. Our instructors are nationally renowned practicing artists who bring current studio expertise to the program.

The exceptional sculpture facilities feature specialized workshops for both traditional and modern techniques, encompassing metal casting, fabrication, plasma cutting, welding, wood and stone carving, plaster work, resin and plastic applications, digital fabrication with 3D printing, and a cutting-edge wood shop. Additional resources include spacious assembly areas, dedicated project zones for installations and performances, exhibition galleries for student work, outdoor spaces for casting and large-scale projects, plus private and shared studio spaces for graduate students.

Qualification Requirements

Three letters of recommendation. Consult online application for details.
Academic transcript. Unofficial transcript uploaded to the online application. If you are admitted, an official, degree-bearing transcript must be mailed to the University. Applicants must complete a U.S. bachelor's degree (or its equivalent in another country) before starting a graduate program.
Personal statement/essay. Describe in approximately 500 words your main academic interests, why you wish to study for the degree you have chosen, why you wish to study at Syracuse University, how you expect to finance your studies, and your plans for the future after you receive your degree. The recommended minimum TOEFL score required on the internet-based (iBT) test is 90.
The minimum IELTS score is 6.5.
