Syracuse University's French Program equips students to succeed in our diverse global society. The curriculum features an array of courses exploring Francophone literature and culture, enhanced by interdisciplinary approaches including gender studies, Caribbean studies, and colonial/postcolonial research. By blending historical perspectives from medieval and early modern periods with modern viewpoints, students gain comprehensive insight into evolving literary and cultural movements. Undergraduate and graduate options include major/minor tracks in French and Francophone Studies, plus an M.A. program—all focused on developing advanced language skills and cultural understanding.
The Master of Arts in French and Francophone Studies requires completion of at least 30 credit hours.
