The Women's and Gender Studies (WGS) program combines feminist scholarship and activism to examine and transform social, economic, intellectual, cultural, and power structures. Our Certificate of Advanced Studies in Women's and Gender Studies (C.A.S.) enables students to pursue specialized coursework and collaborate with professors across multiple academic fields.
This interdisciplinary Certificate of Advanced Studies allows graduate students to work with faculty from diverse departments and schools. To earn the certificate, enrolled master's or doctoral candidates typically complete at least 12 graduate-level credits in Women's and Gender Studies courses. These credits must be distributed across two or more departments, including a mandatory 3-credit feminist theory course and 3 credits in a foundational WGS class. Some degree programs may require additional coursework beyond the standard 12 credits, depending on specific departmental policies.
