This integrated program enables students to pursue both the Bachelor of Science (BSEE) and Master of Science (MSEE) in electrical engineering consecutively. Structured for completion within five years, it allows two courses (6 credits) at the 500-level or above to be applied toward both degrees. Students typically earn their Bachelor's degree after the fourth year and their Master's at the conclusion of the fifth.
Applicants should begin the application process in the first semester of their junior year within Syracuse University's BSEE program. Admission is based on academic performance, and students must follow the standard MS application procedure.
Graduate study acceptance occurs after the third year, but full graduate status is granted only after fulfilling bachelor's degree requirements. The undergraduate degree is conferred prior to finishing the graduate program. Graduate courses are covered by undergraduate tuition, recorded solely on the undergraduate transcript, and factor into the undergraduate GPA. If necessary, transfer credits from the SU undergraduate record are noted on the graduate transcript and count toward the graduate degree.
