Biology is a vibrant, engaging, and vital scientific discipline. Our department brings together students and professors passionate about exploring life at every level—from molecules and cells to entire organisms, ecosystems, and global systems. The biology undergraduate programs equip students for advanced studies or careers in research, industry, and government sectors. Graduates also build a solid foundation for medical, dental, or veterinary programs, as well as specialized graduate studies in biological sciences.
Committed faculty and staff deliver a rigorous, stimulating curriculum leading to both Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees, plus a Biology minor. Beyond classroom learning, students can engage in hands-on research through faculty laboratory work and by presenting at our yearly Undergraduate Research Conference.
The Bachelor of Science program caters to those pursuing graduate studies in biological sciences or health professions (medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine). The Distinction in Biology track supports research-focused students, while the Environmental Science specialization serves those drawn to ecology, conservation, and sustainability studies.
