Choosing a philosophy major is a smart option for students pursuing diverse career paths such as law, theology, government, and mental health services. Several of our philosophy alumni have established thriving legal practices, while others are currently studying at law schools and theological seminaries. Numerous graduate programs actively welcome applicants holding philosophy bachelor's degrees, including fields like business management, economic studies, psychological sciences, social services, media studies, and government operations.
Philosophy coursework also enhances the academic foundation for students specializing in STEM fields, social sciences, mathematical studies, historical research, creative writing, visual arts, and information technology. Students who complete multiple philosophy classes to fulfill general education prerequisites may find they're just a few courses away from earning a full philosophy major. This positions philosophy as both an excellent complementary major and an easily attainable minor concentration.
