The core curriculum cultivates adaptable expertise in both theoretical and experimental physics (including hands-on experience with electronic devices) that appeals to numerous technology-focused companies and industries. Physics alumni from SUNY Oswego demonstrate exceptional success in gaining admission to diverse graduate programs across the country spanning all fields of applied science. Students can pursue the standard BS degree path, along with an Applied Physics specialization, a BA in Physics, or Physics teaching certification. Our dynamic department delivers rigorous training in experimental and theoretical physics while offering extensive opportunities for advanced study in Astrophysics, Computational Physics, Materials Science, and Quantum Mechanics. To earn Physics Honors, students must: Fulfill all Physics BS degree requirements while maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA in program-specific courses.
Satisfy all Mathematics BS degree requirements with a minimum 3.5 GPA in major-related coursework.
