Your analysis of public communication will involve exploring public speaking along with the fundamentals of persuasion, debate, and rhetorical techniques. You'll engage in classroom conversations about how people express gender and cultural differences through communication.
Learners implement their knowledge through mandatory service learning components within their degree curriculum. We highly recommend pursuing internships, cooperative education programs, independent research projects, and other avenues to practice what you've learned on campus. Outstanding students may qualify for membership in Lambda Pi Eta, the department's prestigious honor society.
Campus media outlets like The Oswegonian newspaper, WTOP-TV, WNYO-FM, and NPR affiliate WRVO offer hands-on chances to develop communication abilities through broadcasting, marketing, and managing digital platforms.
