Suffolk Law's accelerated JD program caters to ambitious, highly dedicated students eager to tackle year-round coursework to complete their law degree a full year faster than conventional programs. Given the rigorous nature of this track, admissions are extremely competitive with limited available spots.
Participants in Suffolk Law's accelerated program can obtain their JD in just 24 months (full-time) or 36 months (part-time evening). While following the same core curriculum and credit requirements as standard JD candidates, they achieve this through an intensive schedule that includes summer sessions before and after their first academic year.
Mastering dispute resolution involves cultivating specialized skills and knowledge of alternative processes to litigation, along with honing negotiation techniques used in daily legal practice. Modern attorneys increasingly encounter specific resolution methods like mediation and arbitration. Litigation specialists participate in these processes as client advocates, while transactional lawyers incorporate dispute resolution clauses into contracts, employment agreements, and other legal documents. This field presents complex legal questions, from enforcing arbitration agreements to ethical boundaries in negotiations. Most crucially, students must recognize how non-binding resolution methods like mediation offer dynamic, adaptable frameworks that provide strategic options for legal professionals.
