The disciplines of electrical and computer engineering are experiencing remarkable expansion, with emerging technologies and lower expenses fueling rapid advancements and broader applications. Within the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department engages in graduate-level education and cutting-edge research across diverse domains such as telecommunications, signal analysis, network systems, computer hardware, semiconductor components, quantum electronics, integrated circuits, and VLSI design. The department maintains specialized research and instructional facilities focusing on: computational systems, engineering design approaches, high-speed computing and network infrastructure, parallel and neural computing systems, visual recognition technology, fiber optic instrumentation, computer visualization techniques, microelectronics and optoelectronic/VLSI components, remote robotics, genetic sequencing methods, digital signal analysis, and telecommunication systems.

Qualification Requirements

For admission to graduate study in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the minimum requirements are:

A. A bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or computer science from an accredited college or university. Outstanding applicants in other technical or scientific fields will be considered, though special make-up coursework over and above the normal requirements for a graduate degree may be required.

B. A minimum grade point average of B in all courses in engineering, mathematics, and science.

C. Acceptance by both the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Graduate School.

Equal to a 3.3 (determined as per calculation by Graduate School)
Two (2) Official Transcripts from all previously attended Colleges or Universities listed on your application
Two (2) Official Degree Certificates or Provisional Certificates from all previously attended Colleges or Universities listed on your application
Letters of Recommendation that have not been submitted electronically through your application
Original report pages of IETLS exams
GRE- Verbal- 150, Quantitative- 159 and Written Analytical- 3
IELTS: Overall score of 7.0, with no subsection recommended to be below 6
TOEFL: 80 for Master's level, 90 for admission to a doctoral program and to be eligible for consideration for TA/GA support
Any applicant who is not a native or primary speaker of English must present a minimum score for either the TOEFL or IELTS tests (Including those applicants who have graduated from a United States university or a university that teaches solely in English)
An applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 point scale.
