The Radiation Therapy (RTT) clinical specialization was created to train students for the evolving demands of Radiation Oncology, equipping them to tackle the daily responsibilities of Radiation Therapists amid increasing national need for these professionals. As vital contributors to radiation oncology teams, Radiation Therapists deliver hands-on care to patients receiving treatment for both cancerous and select non-cancerous diagnoses. Following coursework completion in this specialization, students advance to the RTT clinical certificate program, which offers no academic credit or degree. This 12-month clinical training at Mount Sinai Health System strengthens student capabilities through real-world experience. Our academic-industry collaboration cultivates the expertise needed to uphold ethical practices and professional conduct while delivering exceptional community patient care. Graduates emerge as essential members of cancer treatment teams and pioneers in superior patient care standards. The Mount Sinai Center for Radiation Sciences Education at Stony Brook University represents a collaborative effort between Mount Sinai Health System's Radiation Oncology Department and the School of Health Professions.
