The Computer Engineering program is among the degree offerings at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS), culminating in a Bachelor of Engineering degree. This program holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission (www.abet.org). In our rapidly evolving technological landscape, solving design challenges for computer and data processing systems increasingly requires integrated hardware and software approaches. Aspiring computer engineers must develop expertise in cutting-edge software methods alongside digital electronics and large-scale integrated device applications. The Computer Engineering curriculum equips students with these essential competencies.
The program establishes a robust foundation for lifelong professional adaptability. During the initial two years, students build fundamental knowledge through mathematics, sciences, writing, and core electrical engineering coursework. Upper-level studies incorporate specialized computer engineering classes, advanced computer science courses, and technical electives including computer communications, digital signal processing, computer vision, and embedded microprocessor system design. Practical experience is gained through laboratory work, internships, and regular faculty advising sessions covering academic planning and career development. The culminating experience involves collaborative team projects, where seniors complete original design work under faculty guidance.
