The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Systems Engineering program at the School of Systems & Enterprises equips students with the expertise to design, operate, and maintain advanced systems within today's intricate global business and policy landscape.
Tomorrow's technical leaders choose SSE—a pioneer in systems science and engineering education—to gain multidisciplinary skills for leading systems integration, tackling lifecycle challenges, and excelling in a competitive market shaped by globalization, quality demands, complexity, and productivity. The curriculum combines engineering, technology, and management education, with access to research via the Systems Engineering Research Center (SERC), a U.S. Department of Defense UARC, and the Center for Complex Systems & Enterprises (CCSE), which explores enterprise systems in aerospace & defense, AI/machine learning, healthcare, and transportation & logistics. Alumni secure roles in diverse sectors like aerospace & defense, automotive, and healthcare.
Graduates excel at overseeing engineering and technology initiatives, solving systems integration and lifecycle challenges, and applying systems thinking at organizational levels—all within a business environment driven by globalization, technology, quality, complexity, and productivity. Specializations include: large-scale cyber-physical systems, embedded cyber-physical systems, space systems, and software systems.
Those completing the Space Systems concentration may alternatively earn an M.Eng. in Space Systems Engineering. Students who, with advisor consent, opt not to pursue a full concentration receive an M.Eng. in Systems Engineering without a specialization.
Students must have an undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science or in a related discipline, with a “B” average or better from an accredited college or university.
English language proficiency students must score at least 74 on TOEFL iBT, 550 on TOEFL PBT, 6 on IELTS.
