Epidemiology examines the elements influencing disease and health issues across human communities. Serving as a foundation for public health and medical studies, it guides decision-making, preventive measures, treatment approaches, and insights into disease processes. A key objective is moving beyond mere forecasting to pinpoint probable causative risk factors, forming a dependable basis for interventions and scientific comprehension. This curriculum guides learners through health investigation procedures in low-resource settings, starting from formulating research inquiries and reviewing existing literature to obtaining backing and meticulously organizing fieldwork. Participants gradually refine and obtain weekly evaluations on a preliminary document to bolster a grant application for their selected research topic. Primarily designed for graduate scholars, advanced undergraduates may participate with approval. Enrollment is limited to undergraduates who have completed at least 85 credit hours.
