The Master of Science (M.S.) in Community Health and Prevention Research (CHPR) requires at least 45 units and caters to students aiming for careers in health fields that emphasize preventing chronic illnesses, promoting wellness, and advancing health equity. Community health and prevention research are rapidly growing disciplines that focus on strengthening disease prevention initiatives across local, national, and global communities. Established in 1972, the Stanford Prevention Research Center (SPRC), a globally recognized institution, acknowledges the critical importance of community health and preventive research in medicine, global health studies, and population-wide chronic disease prevention strategies.
