The Ph.D. program is designed mainly for those pursuing careers in research, cutting-edge development, or academia. For these professions, a comprehensive foundation in mathematics and engineering disciplines, combined with focused study and hands-on research in a specialized field, serves as essential preparation. The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) title is awarded to candidates who prove to their department or school that they possess considerable scholarly expertise, exceptional mastery of their chosen discipline, and the capability to conduct autonomous research while effectively communicating their findings.
To be eligible for admission to graduate study to the department, a student must have a B.S. degree in engineering, physics, or a comparable science program. English Proficiency: TOEFL - Your minimum score must be 89 (internet based) OR 575 (paper based).
