The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program is designed mainly for those pursuing careers in research, cutting-edge development, or academia. PhD candidates receive comprehensive training in Aeronautics and Astronautics fundamentals through coursework while conducting focused research in a specific field, ultimately producing a dissertation. Over the last half-century, commercial air travel has predominantly meant crowded jets shuttling between major airports. Yet emerging technologies are transforming aviation's role in society, enabling everything from quiet, eco-friendly global transport to personalized air mobility that bypasses road congestion, to self-piloted drones for logistics and deliveries. Tomorrow's aviation landscape will bear little resemblance to today's. Our research explores these transformative technologies and their implementation in next-generation aircraft designs.
