Stanford's coterminal degree program enables undergraduate students to pursue a master's degree concurrently with their bachelor's degree(s) in either the same or a different department. Coterminal students maintain dual status as both undergraduate and graduate students for at least one quarter before receiving their bachelor's degree. These degrees may be awarded together or in separate quarters, but the bachelor's degree must be completed before or simultaneously with the master's degree. University guidelines mandate a minimum of 180 units for the bachelor's degree plus an additional 45 unique units for the master's degree. Bioengineering coterminal program admits may transfer relevant coursework taken during or after their sophomore year toward their graduate requirements.
