Master the principles of electrical engineering while gaining essential knowledge in mathematics, science, computing, and engineering fundamentals. The Department of Electrical Engineering's undergraduate program aims to enhance the liberal education all Stanford undergraduates receive, provide a fundamental grasp of electrical engineering based on physical science, mathematics, computing, and technology, and equip majors with a thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles and the necessary background in mathematics, science, computing, and engineering basics. This program readies students for employment in government or corporate settings, as well as for advanced studies in graduate or professional programs.
A high school diploma or the equivalent is required in order to enroll at Stanford. Generally, we receive English proficiency exam results (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, etc.) from applicants whose native language is not English and/or the primary language of instruction at their secondary school is not English.
