The Urban Sustainability program offers a comprehensive approach to studying cities through environmental and social sustainability perspectives. Blending urban studies, history, sociology, and design with STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and math), this concentration explores both the physical infrastructure of urban environments and human-focused elements like community development, social systems, policy-making, and equity. Participants gain essential sustainability knowledge along with research and professional skills. This concentration equips graduates to drive meaningful change as researchers, city planners, designers, business leaders, policymakers, and activists tackling critical urban development challenges and their global societal effects.
