The MST Concentration caters to students deeply fascinated by how advancing computer technology and digital audio intersect with music, along with its acoustic and psychoacoustic principles. This program involves conducting an extensive research project with faculty mentorship. It leverages CCRMA's (Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics) rich interdisciplinary setting, one of North America's premier computer-music hubs. Participants can engage in research and select from over 40 study areas, spanning computer music, composition, performance, music cognition, neuroscience, audio processing, instrument/software development, virtual reality, intermedia, and beyond. It also functions as an ideal secondary major for science and engineering students.
