The Film & Media Studies Bachelor of Arts program offers foundational knowledge in film aesthetics, diverse national cinema traditions, and production techniques across narrative, documentary, and experimental formats. It explores how modern artists integrate moving images and examines emerging digital media forms. This curriculum builds analytical skills and conceptual frameworks to assess cinema's cultural and historical significance alongside related media forms.
A high school diploma or the equivalent is required in order to enroll at Stanford. Generally, we receive English proficiency exam results (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, etc.) from applicants whose native language is not English and/or the primary language of instruction at their secondary school is not English.
