The Power Generation and Alternative Energy program equips students with the essential skills and knowledge for careers in the electrical power generation sector. Participants learn about traditional power generation methods alongside renewable energy sources like Wind, Solar, Hydrogen, and Landfill Gas, as well as Smart Grid and MICRO GRID systems. The curriculum also includes Energy Storage topics. Students can pursue an Occupational Skills Award, two Certificate options, or an A.A.S. degree. Additionally, a Practicum (Internship) with local industry partners is available. The Department serves as a NABCEP (North American Board of Energy Practitioners) training center, and the program is industry-recognized with a strong track record of job placements. The College is an authorized North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Training Center, incorporating cutting-edge industry technology in labs and coursework with a focus on hands-on learning.
