The Power Generation and Alternative Energy program equips students with essential skills and knowledge for careers in the electrical power generation sector. Participants learn about conventional power generation alongside renewable energy technologies, including Wind, Solar Power, Hydrogen, and Landfill Gas, as well as Smart Grid and MICRO GRID systems. The curriculum also addresses Energy Storage topics. Students can pursue an Occupational Skills Award, two Certificates, or an A.A.S. degree. Additionally, the program includes a Practicum (Internship) with local Industry Partners. The Department serves as a NABCEP (North American Board of Energy Practitioners) training center. This program prepares students to take the NABCEP Solar Associate Exam, which is the initial step for entering the solar industry.
