The Baking and Pastry Arts program equips students for professional roles in San Antonio and South Texas's thriving tourism and hospitality sectors. These industries have expanded significantly in recent years, becoming the region's second-largest economic driver. With around 37 million annual visitors, tourism generates an estimated $15.2 billion for San Antonio's economy. Graduates gain skills for employment in diverse settings including restaurants, hotels, commercial bakeries, supermarket bakery sections, catering services, and event venues. The program holds exemplary accreditation from the American Culinary Federation Foundation Accrediting Commission through June 30, 2022. This prestigious recognition enables graduates to earn Certified Pastry Culinarian certification from the American Culinary Federation.
