The students in our bachelor of science nursing programs attain their four-year degree to prepare them for the future of healthcare. The ways in which nurses were educated during the 20th century are no longer adequate for dealing with the realities of healthcare in today’s fast-paced, high-tech world of medicine. Many institutions now require registered nurses to hold a bachelor’s degree for this reason. Given the increasing healthcare demands of our population, opportunities in nursing employment are expected to grow by more than 40 percent by 2031, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. At St. Joseph's University, our mission is to prepare the next generation of nurses by offering a four-year, B.S. program for undergraduates.

Qualification Requirements
Required of all applicants:
- a completed application for admission (students may complete the St. Joseph’s University application or the Common Application)
- official high school transcript
- one letter of recommendation from a counselor, teacher or school administrator (letters from other sources may also be considered)
- a personal statement of at least 250 words (no more than 650 words)
- a nonrefundable $25 application fee (unless you submit a qualified fee waiver code)

- St. Joseph's University, New York operates under a test optional admissions policy. Official SAT or ACT scores are not required. Applicants can choose to apply with or without scores and must indicate their intention on their application. - Applicants continue to have an additional opportunity to tell us about themselves in the Optional Writing section of the Common Application or the St. Joseph's University Application.
