Political journalists require deep expertise in government systems and political processes, along with strong abilities to gather, evaluate, and share important information. The combined B.S./M.A. program in Journalism and Government and Politics enables students to earn both degrees through five years of full-time coursework.
During your undergraduate Journalism studies, you'll take four pre-approved graduate-level Government and Politics courses. These credits will count toward your bachelor's degree even if you choose not to pursue the master's program after four years.
This dual degree program in Journalism and Government and Politics teaches students to research and report on diverse news topics while developing specialized knowledge about government functions and contemporary political systems. Your combined studies will prepare you to conduct meaningful interviews, collect relevant data, and effectively communicate findings to global audiences. The program's comprehensive training opens career opportunities in government sectors, media organizations, foreign policy research centers, NGOs, international news outlets, and various other fields.
