Advanced Certificate in Bilingual Education Extension in Queens United States | St. John's University

The department provides a 15-credit graduate program for earning a bilingual education extension. This curriculum equips students with theoretical foundations, multicultural insights, and hands-on experience for teaching in bilingual or dual-language environments. Through five specialized courses, certified teachers will develop expertise in: (1) bilingual education and bilingualism theories, (2) multicultural educational perspectives, (3) social, psychological, and psycholinguistic dimensions of bilingualism, (4) instructional techniques for teaching English and native language arts to bilingual students, and (5) content-area teaching strategies for bilingual English learners.
