The Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program offered by the School of Business delivers an advanced curriculum tailored to equip students for professional accounting careers across public accounting firms, corporate settings, and nonprofit or government organizations. Within the Department of Accounting, students gain essential competencies and expertise to launch their accounting careers while establishing a strong foundation for professional growth. In most instances, finishing this program fulfills the educational prerequisites for taking the Uniform CPA Exam. Graduates will possess the technical proficiency needed to pursue certification exams for becoming Certified Public Accountants, Certified Management Accountants, or Certified Internal Auditors.
The MSA program accommodates both full-time and part-time students. Those with recent accounting undergraduate degrees can fulfill all course and elective requirements within one year of full-time study or two years part-time. Students from non-business backgrounds may complete the program in two to four years, depending on their course load. The program offers accelerated seven-week courses available in hybrid formats (one weekly evening session) or fully online formats without scheduled meetings.
