Industrial engineers create, manufacture, and provide high-quality goods and services to customers at reasonable costs and on schedule. This includes not only developing and producing value-added items but also efficiently and economically organizing and overseeing personnel, procedures, systems, machinery, and other assets. In SIUE's School of Engineering, the Department of Industrial Engineering equips students with essential engineering and management expertise, preparing them for diverse sectors like automotive and aerospace manufacturing, healthcare, shipping and logistics, and business. Graduates from SIUE's industrial engineering program secure roles such as industrial engineers, manufacturing/production engineers, quality engineers/managers, operations/system engineers/managers, and process design engineers at leading firms. These employers feature companies like Boeing, Caterpillar, Inc., Pepsi, Pinnacle Foods, Schnucks, Kraft Foods, Eaton Corporations, Nestle Purina, Lockheed Martin, Lowe's, GM, Mallinckrodt, Monsanto, Chrysler, Emerson Electric, Motorola, American Airlines, USPS, Intelligrated Systems, Anheuser-Busch InBev, BJC Health Care, AT&T, and MasterCard, along with other respected organizations.
Students seeking a bachelor’s degree from SIUE who have never attended a college or university, and those who may have taken some coursework at a college or university outside the U.S. but do not currently hold a bachelor’s degree.
