Qualification Requirements

Have completed your four-year bachelor's degree,
Have completed a master's degree in criminology & criminal justice, or if you do not have a MA in criminology & criminal justice, then have a MA or MS with a minimum of 12 graduate units in criminology & criminal justice, sociology, psychology, political science, or other social science,
Earn a grade point average of at least 3.00 or better (A = 4.00) in all prior graduate coursework and in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study.
If you are an international student, you will need to take the TOEFL English proficiency test and have that submitted (the minimum requirements for English proficiency by the SIU Graduate school are: 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, 213 on the computer-based TOEFL, 80 on the internet-based TOEFL, or, 6.5 on the IELTS).
3.0 on all previous graduate work (approximately a B average)
