Course options encompass etching, lithography, screenprinting, relief printing, monoprints, collagraphy, papermaking, and digital printing methods.
This diverse curriculum enables you to develop expertise in both classic and modern printmaking practices, providing essential skills for a thriving artistic career and the insight to guide it. We provide BFA and MFA degree options.
The program covers an extensive array of conventional and digital methods, urging students to embrace the fullest definition of printmaking.
Before joining the BFA program, undergraduates must finish foundational studies: introductory art history, drawing, and 2D/3D design courses. Additionally, applicants must pass a portfolio review showcasing prior artistic work, whether from SIU or another school.
