The Foreign Language and International Trade (FLIT) program is a Bachelor of Arts degree jointly provided by the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Business. Designed for students passionate about both linguistic studies and commerce, it prepares graduates for careers in global business environments. FLIT alumni gain comprehensive training, equipping them for roles in internationally-focused companies, organizations, or government agencies with global operations.
English-speaking students should concentrate on mastering one selected language and culture from these options: Chinese, French, German, Japanese, or Spanish.
While FLIT participants select a primary language focus, they're encouraged to study additional languages without restriction. Many students with prior high school language experience can bypass beginner-level courses through placement exams or by achieving a B grade or higher in intermediate-level language classes.
