The Marine Biology program equips students for professional paths in marine sciences, spanning academic, governmental management, and private sector opportunities. Many participants complete essential marine science coursework at The University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL) in Ocean Springs, MS.
The Biology Department delivers a solid grounding in biological principles while allowing customization for personalized learning journeys. With favorable faculty-to-student ratios, the department promotes close mentorship, faculty-led research projects, and access to cutting-edge facilities in its contemporary Science building.
Students must have official transcripts and marks from your high school or college/university. We require a 2.0 minimum GPA for all the incoming freshmen students.
Minimum English Requirements (must meet one of the following)
A score of 500 or higher on the written TOEFL
A score of 173 or higher on the computerized TOEFL
A score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL
A score of Band 5.5 (overall) on the IELTS
A score of 43 or higher on PTE (Pearson Test of English)
A score of 90 or higher on Duolingo
