This academic pathway fulfills the requirements for an Associate in Science Track 1 degree with a Chemistry concentration. The pre-major curriculum prepares students for junior-level transfer to four-year institutions offering chemistry or related programs. Chemistry influences nearly every aspect of our lives, serving as a fundamental science that intersects with biology, mathematics, and physics. Throughout the program, students explore matter and energy at the molecular level. The coursework establishes a strong base in general chemistry while enhancing comprehension of scientific experimentation techniques, data observation, and analytical methods. Students will acquire practical laboratory experience. Frequently referred to as the central science, a chemistry degree provides exceptional preparation for diverse career paths including pharmaceuticals, environmental science, chemical engineering, biotechnology, nutrition, medicine, dentistry, and more. For those intrigued by the composition of matter, molecular interactions, and their practical applications in developing new materials and solving real-world challenges, pursuing a chemistry degree may be an ideal decision.
Applicants can apply who are high school graduates; or 18 years of age or older.
