Exercise Science focuses on analyzing human movement to enhance or preserve physical health. Graduates in this field are equipped to evaluate, create, and administer personalized and group fitness plans for both healthy individuals and those with managed medical conditions. They excel at assessing health behaviors and potential risks, performing fitness evaluations, developing tailored exercise regimens, and inspiring clients to adopt positive lifestyle changes. These professionals maintain expertise in leading health and wellness initiatives across academic, corporate, private, and community environments where clients engage in fitness and health promotion activities. During their final year, Exercise Science students can earn certification as an American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP). The program also prepares students for certifications as Personal Trainers, Group Exercise Instructors, and Strength and Conditioning Specialists.
Students gain practical experience through on-campus internships and off-campus fieldwork. Past participants have worked at various locations, both nationally and globally, in areas such as strength training, cardiac rehab, workplace wellness, fitness administration, community fitness programs, and movement analysis.
