The Community and Public Health program equips students for professional roles in both public and private health organizations, including government health agencies, nonprofits, and corporate settings. Those pursuing this major explore diverse healthcare career options such as professional programs (Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Chiropractic, and Occupational Therapy), advanced degrees (Master of Public Health, Communication Studies, Healthcare Administration, and Athletic Training), or the Accelerated Nursing track. Others aim to work as Health and Wellness Coaches.
This program focuses on training students to design, execute, manage, and assess health initiatives that enhance wellbeing for individuals, populations, and communities. Applicants should have an above average academic record at least equivalent to a B average 2.60 out of 4.00 or be in the top 60 percent of their class with suitable academic preparation for the intended major.
