Among the most rapidly expanding scientific fields is biochemistry, a relatively young discipline. Biochemistry explores how atomic and molecular interactions drive biological functions in all living organisms—plants, animals, and humans alike. At SDSU, the Biochemistry B.S. program combines a strong chemistry core with essential elements of biology, physics, and mathematics to provide comprehensive undergraduate training. This foundation prepares graduates for diverse paths in biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, government labs, and serves as excellent preparation for pre-professional studies.
