The Journalism program equips students for careers in journalism and related disciplines like public relations and advertising, while also supporting those transitioning careers or adapting to the field's evolving technological needs. The program additionally readies students to transfer as journalism majors to four-year colleges and cultivates media literacy within the community.
Learning is enhanced through practical experience with the student newspaper, The Skyline View, including its digital platforms. Program participants produce Viewpoint magazine each spring and gain exposure to industry conferences, internships, and employment opportunities.
Skyline College's Journalism Program blends academic rigor with career-focused training, positioning students for success in journalism and adjacent professions.
