The General Service Technician I certificate provides foundational knowledge and skills essential for the Automotive Services Technician field. All courses in this certificate are included in the AAAS degree for Automotive Services Technician.
This Certificate of Proficiency prepares students for careers in the automotive service industry. Shoreline Community College collaborates with local advisory committees and industry experts to equip students with the entry-level knowledge and skills that employers currently seek. Classes utilize the innovative I-BEST teaching method, which integrates essential math and communication skills valued by employers. Students are encouraged to advance beyond this certificate to pursue an Automotive Service Technician A.A.A.S. degree by completing an additional 56-61 credits (refer to the degree planning guide). Additionally, students can apply to Shoreline's manufacturer-specific training programs or explore the Engineering AS-T2 transfer degree.
