Get ready for a four-year Business degree by starting with Shoreline's Business Pre-Major program. The business field encompasses diverse private and public organizations delivering products and services. Students in this major acquire fundamental knowledge across key business areas including leadership management, sales and marketing, economic and statistical analysis, global commerce, and business law. After mastering these core concepts, learners typically focus on specific concentrations like finance, procurement and administration, or human resources. As part of Shoreline's General Transfer curriculum, this Major-Related Program offers tailored coursework meeting the Associate in Arts Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) requirements, culminating in a specialized degree.
The AA-DTA serves as a transfer pathway between Washington's community colleges and four-year institutions. Credits from this program typically transfer collectively to most Washington bachelor's programs, covering most lower-division general education needs and granting junior status, though admission isn't guaranteed. To earn the AA-DTA, students must complete 90 quarter credits in 100-level or higher courses with an overall 2.0 GPA, with no individual course grade below 1.0. The AA-DTA Major Related Program (MRP) specifically prepares students for business majors at select four-year institutions, requiring particular courses that appear as a distinct completion type on transcripts compared to the standard AA-DTA.
